Came here two days in a row. Lads on the bar were canny and had a couple of pies which were banging too on a rainy day.

Great place for some brilliant pie and mash. Easy menu, quick service, and you pay at the bar when you order, simple. Beef and brown ale pie was delicious with creamy mash, mushy peas and parsley sauce. Also had the sticky toffee pudding which was delicious. Absolutely recommend this place!

The pies are so good here this is my second visit. I had the spinach and chickpea pie, mouth watering stuff! Fantastic location overlooking the Tyne Bridge. Busy during the day so you might want to arrive for a earlier lunch

I'm a real ale drinker and I was very pleased with the selection they had on when I visited. My friend ordered food which looked delicious. Really friendly staff which added to the experience.

The attraction is mainly the underground feel the place has. Therefore, extra stars given for the atmosphere. We were one of the first people in the restaurant and it felt like the staff were unhappy about that. I was given the wrong order and when the correct order returned, there was residue of the item that was asked to be removed on my sides. Both myself and partners sides (he had mash and I had chunky chips) were luke warm and the same with the gravy we got. It all tasted like warmed up food or food that had been left a while before being brought. I am unsure as to why as we were probably the first in the restaurant to receive our food. The pies (we had mince and onion) were OK but wouldn’t have again. You could probably just settle for popping into Pink Lane Bakery for one instead.

The pies were lovely, made by pink lane bakery so you expect a decent pie. Ordered two meals one without peas and both came with peas. This was returned but came back with peas on a few chips. The peas that remained were cold. Mash was luke warm as was the gravy. Shame as the surroundings were authentic and had potential.

Nice quirky bar. The staff were lovely and the food was nice enough. Out of 5 people 3 thought it was really good the other 2 still liked there but not enough to give 5 stars. If you are considering going I would definitely give it a try yourself. They have a good selection of drinks too which is always a bonus

A quirky pub that's well worth a visit. It has so much character and the staff are friendly and helpful. There's a couple of real ales on and they rotate them and the pie menu is good. The quality of the pies is superb.

First time trying here today on the restaurant week deal. It was a pie of choice a type of potato of choice, a pea choice and a sauce choice. We both went for the steak & ale pie, buttery mash, mushy peas, I went for the meat gravy and then my husband went for the cheese sauce. It was £20, usually £26 for everything without the restaurant week deal. Quality was 10/10 and i can’t wait to come back and try other flavours

The best pie you will ever eat and the price is ideal - We went during restaurant week and for two of us it came to £27 (food and drinks!). Well worth a visit (make sure to book though as it was busy! We both had steak and ale pie and it was full to the brim with steak!

Locale piccolo, intimo e carino.

If you like pie and mash then this is the only place to go....pick your pie, type of mash, gravy and side...but the best part is the beer, probably the best beer on the quayside, Highly recommend....and dog friendly
